Missed the President by ten minutes.

MT. VERNON

We had a freezing experience in Mt. Vernon. Eric and Lindsey Richards came with us as well as sweet, dear Maddie Burton. Maddie was fun to have with us. She loves to write and the whole time wrote a letter to her teacher. Giving her self extra homework. What a student. Ethan froze and didn't mind letting us know he was cold the whole time. It was neat being there on Presidents Day and George Washingtons 275th Birthday. George W. Bush was there as well except we didn't get to see him but everyone let us know we missed him by 10 minutes. The kids were really interested to see where George Washington died. Its was almost like they thought when we got there his body would still be there. Maddie walked by the lady giving the speech about how he died and when and how old. I did think she was even listening tell she called her Mom or Dad to let them know all the details. It was incredible how much she did hear. Every detail and I swear even more. She could give the next tour an even clearer understanding. We had fun in Mt. Vernon.
