Chris and I had a blast going to Hilton Head, South Carolina. We went there for a work convention. There were two other couples that were there as well. We love any excuse to get away with out the kids. Even better was we only had to pay for one night the other nights were covered by the hospital. They put us up in a really nice Hilton that sat right on the beach. I loved waking up and having the ocean right there with a balcony to sit and read my scriptures and eat breakfast ( apples and crushed almonds, Yummy!). I loved the room had a little kitchenette which made it nice to eat out only for dinner. We loved it! I loved not feeling gross by the end of the trip.
Day 1
We left early enough on Thursday we thought so Chris could sign in but turned out that he didn't need to tell the evening. So we stopped first at the Outlets since it was overcast and our hotel check in was later. I loved it. I love that I had some Birthday money . I was most excited about my coat that I snagged. I love outlets and I love sales at outlets even better.
We had a dinner that night which we met up with Stuart and Jessica. We didn't last there long and headed off to Sticky Fingers. It was great BBQ. I don't know if I am huge on BBQ. Especially now that I am staying away from animal proteins and eating whole grains and veggies. We had heard good things about this place from some great friends. Which we are missing! Thanks for the suggestion Kaye. We loved it!!!
Day 2
Chris had stuff in the morning so I woke up and worked out. I loved it! The gym was really great but extremely hot. Then I just got ready for ever. I loved it. No one bothering me during the whole morning. Wow! That alone was an experience.
I met Chris for lunch and we ate with everyone there. Then we hung out in the afternoon. We rented these great beach bikes and rode up to this pier. It was so much fun. I loved the boats and the quaint little shops. We could find ice cream so we settled on a Fresca which is my all time favorite Soda Pop right after Root beer.
We had another dinner that night that was actually decent food. So we hung out and then tried to hit a movie. I won't say who got the time wrong but it all worked out we found a fun dinner and all got some dessert and watch the presidential debate. That was interesting. That a whole other topic all in itself.
Day 3
Chris again had stuff in the morning
So the girls (Jenny and Jessica) and I slept in. That was so nice. We headed down to the beach and rented beach chairs and read books all morning I was in Heaven. Our husband met up with us in the afternoon and we all did our own thing. We rode the bikes up and down the beach. Ya that was great.
Chris took me out for dinner for my birthday which we didn't really get to celebrate. We ate at Bonefish Grill. Ya it was super Yummy. We have found another favorite I think. We also did a little bit more shopping and ended up meeting everyone for the movie. Must of been really good cause I can't even remember it now.
Day 4
Jenny and I went to church as our husbands had to finish off the convention. Then back to Winston. Its so fun to travel in the car when you don't have to constantly entertain the car. Wow! We also didn't have to stop. That was impressive. 5 hours straight driving. I have forgotten how easy it can be to travel. This will not be the last of these trips. We have fun and thanks so much Cianne & Jordon and Wendy for watching our kids. We had a blast.I think the kids kind of missed us. Mostly I think they were just excited to get Lego's for being good.

I hear you about getting ready without inturruption. I think it would be magical to just get ready for like three hours or something. ha! Glad you had a good time.
Looks like you had a blast! You looked beautiful too!
What a fun getaway! We love HH! My parents have had a home there for the last 10 years. If you ever go with your kids... call me. I'll give you a 'to do' list that will rock their world. It's a great family place. But I'm so glad you got a 'recharge' weekend. Those are so important!
