Okay so last night was not one of my best sleeps ever. I was up at midnight, 2, and every hour after that with heart burn. I truly wonder some nights if I could breath fire. I guess only in my dreams. So with not getting to much sleep and the sleep I did get was sitting straight up on my couch. I am getting better at it. Our ward is having a talent show in a couple of weeks maybe I should show case that talent. Breathing fire while sleeping sitting up. What do you think?
So to say the least all I could think about as I am getting my two older boys off for school in world record time of 15min. That included making lunches, eating, dressing and all. Did I learn my lesson. Yes, why have I been waking up earlier then I need to be. Just kidding.
So after I got my kids off to school I totally picked the longest movie we have for the kids. "Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone". Three hours should be enough to catch up right. Well, that is what I thought as well. Except I didn't expect that three hours to fly by in 2 minutes sleep time. I swear it went way to fast. So what did I do continue on with my nap and let the kids play. Why not those two never get into trouble. When I woke up and came out to make LUNCH. I was a little surprised to see all the books out but what could I say I had slept way to long. Then I saw the denim ottoman. The one that looks disgusting, but we keep using it cause its incredibly comfortable. What would we do with out it ottoman. The kids had taken a whole Gatorade bottle full of water and poured it on that denim beast. Not just once, but who knows how many times cause it was soaked threw. They weren't to worried about it. They just said when I asked who did this? Thinking it was for sure Jackson since Matthew tends to stay out of those kind of things. Was I wrong Matthew just said "ya, It was me and Jackson. It was so fun. We just kept pouring water from the fridge onto the couch!"
So with that the thing I am grateful for is sleep. And the fact that when this all happened I didn't even blink an eye to it. We just went on and made lunch. LIFE! I wouldn't change it and to be honest that nap was well worth it.

That is quite a unique talent! At least your boys didn't leave the house, that would have been my main fear. At least it was water on something that could handle the abuse, rather than markers on the walls, grape juice on the carpet, or a volcano over part of a floor vent made of an entire costco sized Nesquik powder, with maple syrup lava, and some broken spaghetti sticks thrown in for additional mess (my boys truly made this masterpiece of mess a few years back).
I hope the heart burn lessens. Also, super scary about the premature labor scare. I had that for my last three pregnancies and was on partial bedrest for each of them. They gave me turbutaline (I'm not sure how it is spelled) to stop the contractions but it made my heart race so fast they had to discontinue the medication. Good luck!!!
Sorry to hear about the heart burn. Will your doctor let you take TUMS? I had heart burn with both kids & that little fruity pill took the heartburn right away.
Rachel, sorry about your heartburn. But, you certainly deserved the nap, and you are ONE patient mom....
way to get a nap in. too bad we aren't neighbors, let alone in the same time zone anymore...we could hang out all night long and watch Brian Regan or something :)
I would get it so bad I had to sleep sitting up too and now I just get it becuase! I take tums like crazy, and this sounds gross, but it helps the pain a lot. i drink water and baking soda. it's disgusting, but it helps quickly. The soda neutralizes the acid in your esophogus!! I hope this helps!
